Green River Sounds of Hawaii 2012

This year was our 8th year performing at the Sounds of Hawaii concert put on by Green River Community College.  We did the opening program for Nathan Aweau & Darlene Ahuna, Joe Camacho & our very own Kumu, Kamaile Hamada.

Aha Mele - April 7th, 2012

Our halau will be performing at Aha Mele after taking last year off.  It will be held again at Chief Leschi High School in Puyallup, WA.  Directions HERE.  We will have a vendor table selling some of our ono goodies & we will be performing at 3:45pm.  Hope to see you all there!!

Ia Oe E Ka La 2011

This was our 3rd year competing in Ia Oe E Ka La & just like the last few years, we had a great time.  We laughed, we cried, we shared many memories that will last a life time.  We came home with two trophies this year.  One going to Jessica Whalen for 3rd place Wahine Soloist & one going to Wahine for 3rd place in the Kahiko division.

Ka Hula Hou 2011 - Wrap Up

Five of our wahine enjoyed themselves in the first year celebrating the Wahine dancer at Ka Hula Hou 2011.  There were 4 participating halau & 1 challenging halau.  

We won our first round against Las Vegas - Kanani Cadaos

We lost our second round against SoCal - Puanani Jung

We won our third round against AHA - Mark Ho'omalu

This put us in a tie with AHA with 2 wins & 2 losses.  We ended up losing in the finale, but had THE BEST time.  To see some of our performances, please check out the videos tab.

Ka Hula Hou 2011 - San Mateo, CA

In the past, KaHulaHou has celebrated the kane dancer. This year, the wahine enter the arena for the first time! Prepare to be captivated by the combined strength and grace of women's hula. Watch as four teams of dancers challenge one another in true tournament style, displaying their technique and power while keeping you on the edge of your seat!
